Andrew Jones is a \u003cem\u003egun-for-hire\u003c\/em\u003e with a resume a mile long.  Jones has had key engineering roles at KEF, Infinity, TAD, Pioneer, ELAC, and now, MoFi.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eJones set out to create a fully integrated driver design with high and mid performance that would match up to competition priced 3-4x higher.  The result is a high-efficiency 10\" paper composite cone driver, with a concentrically mounted 1.25\" coated fabric dome tweeter.  This \"point source\" arrangement ensures that high, mid, and low frequencies reach the listener's ear at precisely the right time: using physical attributes and placement, not complex \u003cem\u003e(read: inefficient) \u003c\/em\u003ecrossover wizardry.  This simplistic approach freed Jones to create a crossover network that would stay out of the way of the incoming electrical signal.  This balance yields a speaker that is revealing, coherent, and natural. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe sculpted front baffle of the cabinet reduces unwanted high frequency diffraction, allowing the traditionally-shaped cabinet design to resemble the size and proportions of vintage speakers of yore.  The side walls of the cabinets are angled slightly to minimize low frequency cancelations.  And the dual rear ported design allows these large drivers to breathe, despite them having a rather tightly-sprung suspension.
