Acoustic Energy Corinium

The Corinium, by Acoustic Energy, represents the company's flagship model, developed in a completely new way from previous generations of AE speakers.  The Corinium has been created from the ground-up, with all new drivers and crossovers developed exclusively for this model. After 3 years of design and development, the AE engineering team took the best attributes of every speaker that preceded the Corinium and incorporated those ideas into this project, ensuring the successful and award-winning Acoustic Energy "DNA" would be readily apparent throughout. 

The goal from AE's CEO, Mat Spandl, was simple "Create the most dynamic, live sounding, and musically involving speaker in the company's history."

The Corinium is the fusion of all of the best characteristics of stand-mount and floor-standing speakers, in one solution -- The clarity, soundstage, and detail of quintessential British monitors, combined with the dynamics and prodigious energy of a large floor-stander.  Building off of the success of the 500-series and their Carbon Fiber drivers, the Corinium goes even further, with 2nd generation CF components that are lighter, stiffer, and more durable than the originals. These subtle changes over the 500-series allow the components to provide even greater detail and faster transient responses, improving timing and a sense of naturalism.

Low-end impact is supported by a completely newly designed 6.5" Gen-2 Carbon Fiber woofer, two per cabinet, and tuned specifically to work with the synergies of the Corinium crossover network.   And the crossover network is remarkable as well.  Comprised of only the best possible components, and using a modified 2nd Order network to account for phase and time shift through the crossover itself. The entire system was optimized over simulation, but also using real-world listening to ensure the result is pleasing to the ear and not just a series of computer algorithms.

Finally, the level of finish on the Corinium is exquisite. Available in four finishes: Tectona Natural Wood, Gloss Black, Gloss White, and British Racing Green (with a upcharge) - The Corinium stands out visually even before knocking you out audibly.
