Aerial Acoustics 10T, SW12, and CC5 - The Ultimate Front Stage

Aerial Acoustics, by any measure, made some of the finest speakers in the industry for over 30 years.  Founded in 1991, Aerial was created by a small group of engineers from ADS.  These designers combined their knowledge of dynamic speakers to create Aerial's first model, the 10T. The 10T was made for roughly a dozen years after that and with great critical acclaim all along.  The build-quality and craftsmanship of the Danish-made cabinetry, combined with Novalith concrete-composite mid/high "head" provided impeccable imaging, broad soundstage and full frequency response for music of all types.   Bass drivers were provided by Scanspeak, midrange by Focal, and tweeters also by Scanspeak in the Series II, shown here. All drivers customized to Mike Kelly's own requirements for the perfect sound.

As the company matured and expanded, new product offerings were made available.  Notably, the SW12 powered subwoofer which adds even more low-end grunt to an already impressive system.  The SW12 cabinetry is equally stout with 2-inch thick, front, rear and side walls; and 1-inch internal bracing. The cabinets are "dead" to resonance which allows the massive long-throw, overhung, 12" woofer to efficiently move air down under 20 Hz with aplomb. The custom designed 400 watt power amp includes multiple crossover points, slope and phase control, as well as amplitude.  

Not to be left behind, and in an effort to create the perfect front soundstage for home theater movies or even multi-channel music, the Aerial CC5 center channel is a beast.  Larger and heavier than most floor standing speakers, the CC5 features twin 7-inch Scanspeak woofers in a tuned/ported enclosure, combined with a 4" Scanspeak midrange and 1" titanium dome tweeter.  The setup is timbre-matched to work seamlessly with Aerial's other products, including the 10T. 

The examples we have here -- 10T, SW12, and CC5 -- are nearly perfect and sound incredible.  One-owner speakers, reluctantly being sold, which have been babied and cared for since Day 1.  The Rosewood finish on both the 10T and the SW12 is impeccable.  There is a bit of fading on the front face one the 10T, which is extremely common on this model as the finishes were all hand-applied.  Grille covers are all in tact.  The Black Oak finish on the CC5 is equally clean, with only the faintest of marks on the top surface. 

To top it off, ALL of these pieces come with the optional (and expensive) Sound Anchors; heavy-gauge steel stands which provide a strong footing, improved imaging and bass response for all three pieces. All three also include the original boxes and packing crates, making freight shipping a real possibility.
