Arnie Nudell has a resume that is pages long.  Trained as a nuclear physicist, Arnie along with John Ulrick, and Cary Christie founded Infinity in 1968, a speaker company that would have one of the longest and most diverse product lineages in the audio industry. After roughly 20 years, Arnie left Infinity to create Genesis Technologies with another audio heavy-hitter, Paul McGowan (co-founder of PS Audio). The web of who's who in the hifi circles is a tangled one indeed!

Genesis Technologies was formed around 1989 to develop "ultra-high-end" speaker systems, and to allow Arnie to get back to the business of designing speakers, rather than being spreadsheet-managing business owner. Genesis, under Arnie's direction, went on to create some of the most elaborate and impressive loudspeaker systems of their time.

The model 8300f was an attempt at taking some of the newest, and most advanced technologies in the company's arsenal, and placing them in an accessible enclosure - Something that could be enjoyed by a much larger audience.  The 3-way design starts with one of Arnie's own developments from Infinity, the "EMIT-r" tweeter.  Using an extremely lightweight planar-magnetic membrane and radial voice coil pattern, the Genesis version of the tweeter provided even cleaner pistonic movement, with reduced distortion, and clean response to 30kHz.

The next element which might look familiar (but different) to some Infinity aficionados, is the large dome midrange. The 3-inch Titanium Silicon dome material, couples with a high density magnet structure to provide highly defined and dynamic midrange. Similar in concept to Infinity's "Polydome" design but improved through Arnie's studies of material science.

The 8" Injection Molded Kevlar-Polypropylene woofer provides long-throw operation that remains incredibly controlled. There's no muddiness with bass response.  The stiff and lightweight cone is another derivation from Infinty's "IMG" or Injection Molded Graphite concept, but again upped to the next level.

Finally, cabinet design is unique and purposeful. An anti-diffraction pad is positioned over the entire front baffle to minimize "first reflections" and the cabinet itself is constructed in a semi-circular shape for rigidity and to eliminate parasitic internal reflections.  The cabinet material is a combination of multi-layered MDF, covered in a beautiful gloss black laminate.

This set sounds and looks wonderful. And is ready to play majestically for years to come. Music is clean and effortless.  Power capabilities are top-notch and these speakers continue to impress and improve with every vertical move in terms of power and clarity from upstream equipment.   Besides a very superficial swirls in the high gloss finish, these speakers present very well.

Demos are encouraged in Andover, MA.
