Klipsch Reference RF-83 Speaker System

The Klipsch RF-83 loudspeaker is a modern, top-of-the-line system from one of audio's most loved brands.  The RF-83 is a big tower.  Tall, slender, deep -- Commanding a room both in terms of acoustics and also physical presence. Originally part of a multi-piece home theater "Package" - of which we have most of it in our showroom - The RF-83 amazed reviewers with its dynamics and presentation.  Quintessential Klipsch, but with an elevated level of clarity.  

The RF-83 stands 50 inches tall. At the top it features a 1.25" horn-loaded titanium tweeter.  Below the tweeter are three 8" "Cerametallic" hybrid cone woofers.  The composite nature of the cone material reduces unwanted resonances that can sometimes plague metallic diaphragm materials.  The woofers in this case are all active, in other words, they work together with a series of separately tuned, rear-firing ports to do the work of producing bass down to 29 Hz.  Overall, the system has a 99dB efficiency rating, an 8 ohm impedance, and 250 watt max RMS power handling.  So, use these speakers with mega-solid state power, or modest tube power and be rewarded in either configuration. 

The furniture-grade wood finish, dark cherry in this case, is stunning to look at. The front drivers can be obscured by cloth-covered grilles, but really, you want to see this system working.  Its towering stance immediately calls attention, and then once the music plays, all of your senses are awakened.
