Traditional Marantz quality and high performance make the Marantz 2226B a lot of receiver for a little money. With excellent reliability, it offers 26 watts per channel into 8 ohms, enough to power most 2-way bookshelf speakers in small to moderately sized rooms. When it was introduced in 1978, the 2226B instantly became a hit.
The preamp control section includes provisions for turntables, tape deck, and auxiliary inputs, plus precision control over virtually every audio variable. Behind the anodized front panel are: low-noise, low-distortion FET, RF and IF circuitry; sizable heat sinks; and automatic protection for internal circuitry and associated speakers. Completely enclosed metal chassis is finished in simulated walnut.
The novel and distinctive "Gyro-Touch Tuning" wheel became a signature Marantz feature and has a lovely tactile nature to it. Making tuning into FM stations very satisfying.
An extraordinary example of this highly desirable vintage receiver. Beautiful fit a finish and nearly blemish-free, the front brushed aluminum face and backlit FM dial have a commanding glow when illuminated. This unit has been fully cleaned and verified by our in-house tech and ready for many years of music enjoyment.
