The 555 Power Amplifier uses a unique feedback system & precision local error technology. It is designed and constructed in a dual mono format including a massive twin would toroidal transformer with full thermal, DC & load protection. The 555 combines all the major tech advances at Meridian's disposal.

The Meridian 555 is a DC-coupled amplifier with a single-pole feedback network. It has a clean, first-order response with transient signals.

So Meridian, although not really well known in the US, is a super high end brand. Their powered speaker systems are legendary and their power packages are used in some of Europes most storied recording facilities. Is it "good stuff"? without question, fabulous components each and all. This 555 is in pristine condition like it just came out of it's plastic. Has been in the same home since new and was used sparingly in a second system.
