Musical Fidelity, A1 - Class A Greatness!

The Musical Fidelity A1 is a direct descendent of the original British Fidelity A100 integrated amplifier that is today still, an audiophile legend.  Developed by Anthony Michaelson ~1985, the A100 incorporated a hi-biased Class-A solid state design to produce stunning music.  The contemporary version of this amplifier remains at 50 watts per channel and delivers clean, uncolored, beautiful power to any speaker you hook it to.  The case design is as simplistic as it is "totally 80s." Featuring a tape loop, auxiliary inputs, phono stage, and with the coolest addition of a digital screen, this amp can do it all.  

In Hi-Fi realm, the Musical Fidelity A1 has become one of the most classic designs – inside and out. When 1st released, it quickly made waves for being an absolute beast when it came down to driving some of the most difficult speakers of that time, even though it was actually a rather low powered integrated amplifier. But: it was all done in pure Class A with excellent and expertly laid out discrete symmetrical circuitry topology and using only highest quality components. The A1 showed people that there was more to amplifiers than just high power. This is the way cool 2008 vision with digital screen and input selector - Original box, packaging, remote OM, etc... all the compliments of new. In exceptional shape with no flaws of any kind.

Although the amp doesn't take up much space, due to its Class-A operation, it does get VERY WARM.  This is completely normal for Class-A as any power that is not used to amplify sound, is expelled by the amp as heat so hear us when we tell you to give this guy ample space to breath. Don't even think about placing another component on top as this guy will quickly turn into the "George Forman Grill" and char your DAC, lol. So, give it what it needs, and it will give you what you need: amazing music.
