U-Turn Orbit Theory, A Locally-Made Favorite With Upgrades!

U-Turn Audio was formed just down the street from us in Woburn, MA.  Following a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2012, the trio of owners have continued the development of their affordable and accessible "Orbit" turntables into a range of models. Always performing well above their price point, U-Turn is an incredible value to someone new to vinyl listening.  Yet, the simplicity of the design ensures clean and clear playback - even up the standards of much pickier "audiophile" types. 

Here we have the company's flagship model, the U-Turn Orbit Theory. It features their latest and greatest OA-3 Pro tonearm design with one-piece magnesium arm tube and improved counterweight stability.  The motor is electronically controlled for both 33 and 45 RPM speeds - easily selectable from the nicely placed Power/Speed knob located on the left side of the plinth.  

The plinth itself is made from MDF and wrapped in a lovely walnut veneer.  It's relatively sense and resonant-free.  

This table has been set up with the award-winning and acclaimed Ortofon 2M Bronze Moving Magnet cartridge.  With VERY little hours on it, the cart is just barely broken in and really starting to show its true potential.
