JBL Arena 170 Compact Tower Speakers

JBL's Arena series was a budget-oriented home theater setup that could light up a room with big, boisterous sound.  The Arena line included all of the speaker components a budding audiophile might need to get well beyond the confines of bluetooth audio, or {gasp} TV speakers!  

Here we have the Arena 170 Compact Tower Speakers.  By taking design cues from JBL's legendary M2 Master Reference Monitor, the Arena 170 uses a "High Definition Imaging" (HDI) waveguide aft the 1" soft dome tweeter to reduce breakup at the diaphragm and improve the perception of holographic imaging.  In addition, the 7" woofer uses a hybrid "poly-cellulose" cone material for precise control as well as natural timbre for both music and movie listening.  A rear-mounted, tuned bass port allows this little system to reach down into the 44Hz range without the help of a subwoofer.  

These speakers look great too, with a simulated woodgrain finish in a soft black hue. and purpose-built outriggers mounted to the bottom for stability and proper sound coupling.
