Nikko Electric Works Ltd. began making consumer electronics in 1948 and continued as an independent manufacturer until the mid 1990s.  As with many post-War Japanese brands of the time, Nikko made a name for themselves as budget-oriented and high-quality hifi components, targeted toward ex-pats and other markets beyond Japan's borders.  

This line of product from 1971 is an exceptional example of Nikko's design prowess.  With a simple and uncomplicated physical design, the FAM-1200 tuner is an understated and over-performing piece.  This is one of the best sounding, and strongest tuners we have ever experienced.  With a rated frequency response from 15-15,000 Hz, and exceptional stereo separation, the FAM-1200 is a robust and welcome addition to any hifi system, from any budget. 

This unit is in great physical condition.  With only a few minor blemishes from nearly 60 years of use.  The unit has been checked and aligned by our tech and is ready for many more years to come.
