Akai 4400 "Convert-A-Deck - Super Cool R2R Player/Recorder

The Akai 4400 Convert-A-Deck R2R recorder and player, named because it eliminates the question of whether to buy a tape recorder or a tape deck. Instead, this machine has a simple setting that allows you to use it as either a pure deck or a complete system. It also features instant dual monitoring, pause control, automatic shut off, and VU meters. The Akai 4400 functions as both a complete recorder with built-in speakers and amplifier or as a pure tape deck by connecting to an external system; it features two speeds (3.75 & 7.5 ips), auto-shutoff, and solid mechanics, c'mon... so great!

Yeah, this is a very cool piece indeed... its been fully restored for optimal vintage audio performance by our in-house analog tape experts tech and plays amazingly. Intimidated by reel decks, no need... this guy is super easy to operate and really offers a cool dose of R2R grooviness.
