This incredible classic Kenwood receiver is a circa 1978 - late 1979 piece of audio history. The KR-6030 has the classic look of 1970’s Kenwood with the exception of the large push buttons that earlier models used. Instead, Kenwood went to toggle switches typical of this era. The KR-6030 generates plenty of power at 80 watts per channel into 8 ohms and total harmonic distortion of 0.1%. Like a lot of the other Kenwood models it has a great FM tuner section as well.
The KR-6030 has a loudness switch, tone defeat switch and a subsonic filter. The featured analog meters measure tuning and signal strength. The dark dial face and amber white lights make for a nice looking display in a dark room though the KR-6030, although not usually mentioned as having a great look aesthetically, we find it 100% classically appealing.
This Kenwood reciever has been fully serviced including recalibration of the tuner dial and a full cap job. It plays great like only a classic Kenwood can. Full, robust with an incredibly smooth presentation. Has a great phono output stage to boot.
