Unison Research uPhono+

The Unison Research uPhono+ is a special little machine. Made with the same care and attention to detail as the rest of the Unico line, the uPhono+ brings the listener's vinyl playback into the 21st century.  Unlike some "entry level" phono preamps that add unnecessary bells and whistles to look high-end, the uPhono+'s simplistic design and clean controls hide sophisticated circuitry inside that make sure it IS high-end. 

Let's start with the phono stage itself, capable of driving both MM and MC cartridges,  the solid state analog circuitry is designed for the lowest possible noise; all the way down to the internal power supplies.  With fully adjustable gain and cartridge loading settings for MM/MC carts, as well as separately controlled rumble filter, the uPhono+ ensures that only the cleanest sound exits its analog terminals to the rest of your equipment. 

To top that, the uPhono+ contains within it a modern Analog-to-Digital converter which allows the listener to output vinyl digitally via Coaxial, Toslink, or USB terminals. The 24-bit/96kHz ADC gives remarkable versatility to this little charmer.

Finally, an unassuming headphone jack on the front and easily-identifiable volume control signal that this unit can also be used as a dedicated headphone amplifier for vinyl playback.  The headphone amp has enough power to drive anywhere from 16-600 ohm head sets - Nearly any available.
