Adcom started in the 70s when its very first offering wasn’t amplifiers but phono cartridges. They were no ordinary cartridges; however, they were extraordinarily musical “High-Output Moving Coil” designs that extracted a lot of information from a record groove. These products were so successful that Adcom was able to jump off into other territories, notably the power amp market. Adcom's first electronic product, the groundbreaking GFA-1 power amplifier, appeared in December 1979. It was substantially more powerful than most of its competition at 200 watts per channel and was one of the first “high current” designs available.

Follow on from the success of the GFA-1, Adcom was able to develop an entire lineup of power amps that delivered excellent clarity, punch, and reliability.  The GFA-545 II was one such example.  At 100 watts per channel of power to 8 ohms, the GFA-545 II was more than enough to drive most any speaker at your local Tweeter, Etc. store.  The amp was situated right in the middle of Adcom's product offerings and become their best-selling design.  The 545 is remarkably smooth and packs plenty of grunt

This example is in excellent physical condition. Our in-house techs have studied it, and approved it for music-making excellence for many more years to come.
