Kenwood began making consumer audio products in the 1960s under the Trio brand. In the 1970s, the company grabbed ahold of the design and power requirements silver-faced era and never looked back. From exceptional tuners to monster receivers, Kenwood products from this time period are built well and provide excellent sound quality.

The KX-1060 Stereo Cassette deck is another prime example of Kenwood's place in the mid-70s hifi arena. The KX-1060 was introduced in 1979 and ran until 1981. It may be the last of the truly vintage-looking cassette decks before the 80's push-button era came about.

This deck plays beautifully with a 3-head design, each ferrite head assembled for fidelity and durability. A single electronically controlled DC motor provides movement to all of the critical components of this unit. And on this example, all belts have been replaced and all rollers cleaned ardor resurfaced as needed to ensure proper operation for many more years.  The on-board Dolby-B noise reduction circuit provides a little extra quiet on particularly "hissy" recordings.

This piece has been fully serviced by our very-own Tom B.  The big, back-lit VU meters give visual emphasis to the audio signal being passed through and the real walnut side panels create a truly stand-out appearance.
