McIntosh MR65(A) Tube Tuner with Stereo Multiplexer, Fully Serviced!

McIntosh is one of the most dependable brands when it comes to high-end audio systems. For years McIntosh has been recognized by audiophiles throughout the world as equipment that delivers clear and consistent quality in music. McIntosh is probably best known for its amplifiers and preamps, but the company produced many other components and parts for stereo and home theatre over the decades.

The Mclntosh MR65 tube tuner is a precision-engineered, highly-sensitive FM Tuner. In its original configuration, the MR65 was a monaural design, but the MA-5 Multiplexer would allow for stereo operation when installed.  And guess what?  Ours has it!  Making this a gorgeous stereo example. 

The simplistic exterior design, with its prominent tuning dial and four selection knobs, hide what was truly an innovative design in 1960 when it was introduced. 

This MR65 pulls in stations beautifully with little to no background "hiss."  The whole package is in very nice "lightly patina'd" condition. The champagne front face has a few nicks from the years, and some of the glass lettering is missing.  But nothing can hide how great this tuner sounds and how amazing it looks in a vintage setup.   Once you have experienced this MR65(A), you will understand why McIntosh products have earned their reputation among the finest components of their kind being produced anywhere in the world.

This example has also been completely serviced and calibrated by our in-house tech.  All tubes tested. It's ready to run for many years to come.
