This amplifier, built like a tank, continues to hold relevance alongside most all of today's 200W counterparts, delivering a steadfast and reliable performance characterized by the signature sweet McIntosh sound.
While not cosmetically flawless, this amplifier presents admirably given its age, featuring a few imperfections in the glass. Walnut cabinet is flawless and adds to the overall vintage vibe of this great piece. Electrical specifications showcase its impressive capabilities, offering 200w/ch. (400w mono), a response range of 20-20kHz (+0 -0.25dB), distortion at 0.1%, and a noise and hum level of -95dB. The unit supports various output impedances (1, 2, 4, and 8 ohms) and input options. The front panel boasts a glass design with a black and gold escutcheon, illuminated power level meters, gain controls, and a range of meter functions. The back panel features output barrier strips, audio inputs, AC outlets, and various switches for input level, mode, and speaker control.
With dimensions measuring 7-1/8"H, 16-3/16"W, and 14-1/2"D, and weighing 85 pounds, this amplifier was sold between 1975 and 1979.
