KLH was founded in 1957 by Henry Kloss, Malcolm Low, and Anton Hoffman. KLH produced quality, affordable loudspeakers for many decades with the Model Six being one of the most recognizable, copied, and enjoyable speakers in their long history.
The KLH Seventeen offers warm, clean, un-fatiguing sound and is considered one of the company's best 2-way designs. Working exceptionally well with both tube and solid state equipment, the "17" is versatile, stylish, and engaging. The speaker excels at acoustic and vocal recordings, but can really rock out when called upon. Powered by either tube or solid state amps, these speakers really sing.
This set features the original black walnut veneered cabinets with an "incense stain" on the top of one unit (pictured) which adds a little period-correct patina to an otherwise very clean, oiled, wood finish. These speakers are in exceptional condition for being almost 60 years old. The original grille cloth has been replaced with new, and the crossover caps have been replaced and updated with high-quality mylar-film.
Demos are encouraged in Andover, MA.
