McIntosh MX113 "Preceiver" - Classic Performance

McIntosh is one of the most dependable brand names when it comes to high-end audio systems. For years the brand has been recognized by audiophiles throughout the world as equipment that delivers clear and consistent quality in music. McIntosh is probably best known for its tuners, amplifiers and preamplifiers.

The MX113 solid state "preceiver" is one vintage McIntosh product that realized significant success during it's 9 year run from 1971 to 1980.  Thew concept of a "preceiver" is relatively easy to explain.  Take a receiver, strip out the power amplifier section, and enhance the functionality of the preamp... et voila!  On the tuning side, the MX113 was incredibly advanced for its time.  The user-adjustable selectivity on the front panel low-distortion tuning behavior afforded the listener with markers-leading FM reception.  

The MX113's phono preamplifier was equally lauded by the press in 1971. The negative feedback design of the phono stage, coupled with McIntosh's own twist on RIAA equalization provide low-distortion, full-response phono playback for MM cartridges as well.  The line-level inputs are complimented by the unit's high-efficiency power supply, one of McIntosh's specialities. 

Coupled with an MC2105 (105w/channel) solid state power amps of the same vintage, band the MX113 is a giant killer, even today.

This unit has been fully serviced by our in-house tech, tuning and all functionality verified. All lights illuminate with that subtle Mac Glow.  Nothing garish, nothing overdone...Everything just right; Just like the sound.
