NAD (New Audio Dimensions) has been producing amazing quality audio components for over 40 years.  Founded by Dr. Martin Borish in 1972, one of the company's first product major success was the Model 3020 receiver.  NAD utilized a patented "Power Envelope" design to essentially store energy in a bank of capacitors which could then be fed into the output signal when needed for peak power transients.  This allowed the transistor compliment to utilize highly sensitive, high fidelity components, with modest RMS power ratings, but still power some very demanding speakers.

The Monitor Series was released in the late 1980s and took the NAD proven designs to the next level.  Utilizing military spec internal components, copper internal chassis, and a Deiter Rams-like industrial design, the Monitors series delivers SERIOUS power when needed but also provides nuance and lightness to the listening experience.

This combo is a fine example of what NAD had to offer at the time: The 4300 Stereo AM/FM Tuner, 1300 Stereo Control Preamplifier, and the 2700 Power Amplifier.  All together, a wonderful sounding package with an impressive no-nonsense look.

This 4300 Stereo Tuner sounds amazing, and pulls in stations clearly and without issue. This 1-owner unit is in lovely condition and comes with the original box and packaging.  The display reads clearly and it will integrate perfectly with other Monitor Series components.

The 1300 Stereo Control Preamplifier is an incredible separate component.  Known especially for its excellent MM/MC Phono Stage, which to this day is the foundation of NAD's PP2e outboard phono device.  The 1300 is also known for excellent dynamic range and low distortion, and a pre-out maximum 2 volt output level to make easy integration with most power amplifiers.

The NAD 2700 Power Envelope amplifier was one of the most powerful European amps available at the time, and the top of the line model from NAD.  The pinnacle of the Master Series components, the 2700 offered incredible power and headroom with the lowest THD possible.  It maintains 150 RMS watts of continuous power per channel with 0.03% Total Harmonic Distortion into 8 ohms, and the ability to deliver transient power over 800+ watts when needed.  The 2700 is also stable to 2 ohms and can be bridged to 400 watts in mono configuration.
