Rotel was formed by the Tachikawa family in Japan in 1957 and rolled its first products out of the factory in 1961.  The company initially started as an OEM manufacturer for other Japanese brands (Panasonic, Sony, etc.) and eventually launched its own product line in the early 1970s. By the late 1980s and 1990s, Rotel had become synonymous with very high end audio, especially solid state amplifiers and control preamps.  Their main focus was power supply design, noting that with cleaner power supply components, other downstream assemblies would perform quiter, resulting in better output and overall dynamics.

The RB-1090 power amp is one example of Rotel's philosophy, molded into a powerhouse, 380 watt per channel hifi amplifier. And the specs tell the whole story. BIG power, a damping factory of 1,000, a S/N ratio of 116dB, and less than 0.03% total harmonic distortion at full power across the entire frequency spectrum.

The RC-1090 preamp/controller is an exercise in precision engineering. The RC-1090 was designed specifically for 2-channel music production, with scant a home theater feature in site!  Thank you! With 8 analog inputs, including a great MM/MC phono section with unbalanced AND balanced inputs, the RC-1090 is feature-filled.  It's a  clean, uncluttered design as well which makes it a breeze to use.

The RT-1080 AM/FM Stereo tuner completes the stack, which looks ominous when lined up like this.  The tuner pulls in stations with ease and accuracy.

This stack's unique look compliments its performance claims; with the amp's signature Rotel "heat sink" fins positioned at the front of the unit even more visual impact.  The gear is ready to work hard, and for many many years to come.  Also included are the owner's manuals for the amp and preamp, as well as both preamp remotes, and power cords. This system, combined with the Aerial Acoustics 7(A) speakers we have available is a winning formula.
