The "Original" Advent Loudspeaker, Utility Cabinet Design - SOLD

Henry Kloss co-founded The Advent Corporation in 1968 to pursue the design and manufacture affordable color televisions.  As a means of raising capital, Kloss began the production of a loudspeaker system, The Advent Loudspeaker, a design which has become an icon of mid-century acoustic suspension design.

This particular pair of "Utility Cabinet" Advents are in very nice condition.  The original simulated walnut veneer looks beautiful with some minor signs of wear along a few of the corners.  The grilles have been redone in era-appropriate acoustically transparent cloth.  The original 1974 masonite-ring woofers were replaced by period-correct metal frame factory service woofers with the same specs as intended from the factory. Of course, these woofers have been properly refoamed, and crossover capacitors replaced with new, high-quality poly-film components.
