Toshiba SR-A270 Turntable w/Custom Purple Veneer Plinth... So Fun!

So here we have a fabulous starter table from Toshiba. In the 70s, Toshiba Corp was importing all kinds of mid-fi into the US. Tech HiFi & Nantucket Sound ran deep in these simple, auto-return table. Really a bulletproof design as proven over & over again that simpler & uncomplicated is pretty much always better.

This A270 came with upgraded real wood veneer plinth and this particular table has been refinished & stained in a really lovely purple. The prior owner spent consdtable time customizing this deck for his daughter when she was headed off to St Michael's College in VT and it really is pretty special with a nice story. Just presents really well. It's been totally gone through by out in-house TT tech and is playing perfectly with all features working as they should. It's been fitted with a classic Pickering  XV-15 Cart that is a warm but lively playing piece- they still sell for $100-$125 even today so all in all, this table is a super value and one that will bring its new owner a boat load of vinyl joy. Solid 8+ condition only for the cover that has some swirls but nothing sever in any way.
