The HiFiMAN HE400i is a highly regarded, budget-friendly open-back planar magnetic headphone. It delivers remarkable clarity, impressive soundstage, and technical precision for the price. Although a little power-hungry due to the nature of the design and the planar-magnetic technology, when paired with the right headphone amp, these cans can really sing.

Imaging and soundstage are this set's greatest party trick. The HE400i provides a wide, 3D soundstage with great instrument separation, accurately placing different elements of a track.  Bass response is quick, punchy, and articulate.  Lacking the heavy thump-thump of consumer-grade dynamic driver headphones, the planar element is smooth and natural.  The midrange is generally clean and highly detailed, making both male and female vocals also sound natural; and treble extension is tight and airy.

The HE400i utilize a well-padded suspension headband and hybrid velour/pleather pads, making them incredibly comfortable for the long haul.  

This set are in great physical condition.  Coming with the original box and packaging, as well as the removable headphone cable.  Besides a few minor marks from age, this headset is in lovely physical condition.   At this price, hard to beat.
