Pioneer ELITE Mega Stack, All the Late-80s Glitz!

The Pioneer ELITE line was introduced to the US and Japan around 1985 with significant acclaim.  Following the success of Pioneer's attempt at "high end" audio with the Reference Series of equipment, the ELITE line implemented many of the same low-noise, low-vibration characteristics of the pieces that they succeeded.  

Here we have a really unique opportunity.  This is an entire analog and digital STACK of ELITE and Reference line gear.  All in gorgeous condition, with all the documentation, remotes, and the very rare and incredible-sounding Reference Line speakers. Here's a run-down:

F-91 Reference AM/FM Stereo Digital Synthesizer Tuner - This tuner delivers flawless, studio-grade FM reception by automatically adjusting its bandwidth to cut out interference using ARTS (Active Real-Time Tracing System). Its Digital Direct Decoder transforms signals into pure stereo audio while maintaining an incredible signal-to-noise ratio of 80dB. Encased in a vibration-damping chassis, this elite-tier tuner ensures every broadcast is reproduced with zero signal degradation.

PD-M900 Reference Multiplay CD Player - The Pioneer PD-M900 eliminates the hassle of constant disc swapping by seamlessly managing up to six compact discs in a single removable magazine. It uses a magnetic disc clamper to hold your CD perfectly flat. This prevents the disc from wobbling as it spins so the laser can read your music without any errors or skips.  Coming equipped with a handful of disc magazines and two of the very rare anti-resonant single-disc trays as well. 

CT-91 ELITE Stereo Cassette Deck - This deck is a masterclass in engineering featuring a highly rigid, copper-plated honeycomb chassis designed to eliminate audio-degrading resonance. Its uncompromising 3-head closed-loop dual-capstan transport ensures flawless tape tension and an incredibly low wow and flutter specification of just 0.022%. When combined with the high-frequency brilliance of Dolby HX Pro and a robust signal-to-noise ratio of 79 dB, this legendary deck delivers a soundstage so pure it rivals modern digital formats.

C-91 ELITE Stereo Control Amplifier - This preamp is a premium control center, built to isolate critical audio paths using three independent power transformers and an upgraded copper-shielded chassis. This exact separation prevents signal interference to deliver pristine, audiophile-grade sound. Pair it with the matching Pioneer M-91 power amplifier included in this stack to build a flawless, top-tier stereo system with plenty of analog ins and outs to satisfy any connectivity option.  Vinyl playback with the Pioneer C-91 includes a high-performance phono stage supporting both Moving Magnet (MM) and Moving Coil (MC) cartridges with RIAA equalization and fully adjustable load settings.

M-91 ELITE Stereo Power Amplifier - This gorgeous heavy-duty power plant delivers 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms at 0.003% total harmonic distortion, ensuring pristine sound reproduction for nearly any speaker available. The M-91 features a dual-mono design with heavy-duty cast-iron power transformers and Pioneer’s patented honeycomb heat sinks that eliminate unwanted vibrations and electrical interference.  The M-91’s optional Line Direct and CD Direct inputs completely bypass standard buffers to provide the shortest, most direct signal path from your source to your speakers. Built to satisfy the most demanding audiophiles, this 60-pound powerhouse offers high damping and excellent low-end control for an immersive listening experience. The front access panel door's hinges have broken.  We have temporarily held it up with magnets.

DSS-E6 3-Way Loudspeakers - Talk about a classic 1980s loudspeaker system!  The DSS-E6 was designed to meet the rising demands of early digital audio sources. It features robust 8” graphite impregnated cone woofers - both freshly refoamed - paired with 2.5” Boron coated cone midranges, and a unique 2.5” Beryllium LDMC (Linear Drive Magnetic Circuit) - essentially ribbon - tweeter. The system handles gobs of power and utilizes a classic bass-reflex enclosure to maximize the efficiency of its low-frequency output.  With a 40-50,000 Hz frequency responses, these compact speakers are capable of crazy things.  The solid metal speaker stands picture put these speakers at exactly the right height so we are including them with the package. One woofer cone needed some minor repair to the very sensitive graphite cones. 

Just an enormous lineup!  The sound from this system is big, clean, and powerful. The speakers look diminutive in size, but they really complement the whole lineup perfectly.
