ADS L730, 80's Time Capsule Speaker System in Original Condition

ADS is an iconic New England hifi brand with an incredible product line and history.  Originally Aria, an importer of German-made speakers and electronics from Braun, ADS quickly grew to replace its distant cousin in the mouths of audiophiles from the 1970s, 80s, and 90s. The company produced a wide range of speakers in Massachusetts, from the diminutive L100 to the gargantuan L2030.  But ADS's midline product offerings were always popular and provided excellent performance for everyday listening.  Occasionally, the company would branch off into studio monitor territory as well.

ADS L730, manufactured from 1977-1984 & with a MSRP $850: Here we offer a excellent example of an old school, high end speaker from a manufacturer that used to be a staple in both high end home audio and car audio. The L730 speaker is a true 3-Way, acoustic suspension design. Driver compliment is a 3/4" soft dome tweeter, 1.5" soft dome midrange, 10" woofer with a super smooth, laid back presentation. We think ADS play a lot like Classic Mission speakers with a smooth frequency response and classic British sound from an American company. With all honesty, they just don't make them like this anymore - special speakers in amazing overall condition.

The L730, like most all ADS speaker of this vintage, have tweeter overload protection, over-designed crossovers, diffraction mounted drivers and cabinet construction that is top notch. The cabinets have a few superficial blemishes, simply surface imperfections however, the drivers are like new, heavy metal grills are straight and like they just came out of the plastic and even come complete with their matching ADS stands. This is a true survivor set that was cherished and loved. Been run through here by our speaker techs and play magnificently; they should provide the next owner with the star attraction in their vintage 80's setup. Pair these with some ADCOM, Yamaha or Carver from the same era for a super slick rig. Just wonderful all around performers.
