Nakamichi 480, 2-Head Stereo Cassette Deck

Nakamichi arguably made the best cassette decks in the 1980s and 1990s.  They were known for excellent specifications, beautiful play, and durability.  Most well-known for the "Dragon" cassette deck which is considered the best ever made.  But just prior to that epic era as rulers of the cassette kingdom, in 1979, Nakamichi unleashed the 480 cassette player to the market... An affordable product, with performance that reached beyond its price point a the time. 

The 480 model sat in the middle of the Nakamichi range.  It was a high performance 2-head cassette player and recorder. The 480 was capable of playing Type I, CrO2, and Metal tapes with clarity and low distortion.  Recording capabilities were equally great, and the front-mounted controls logically placed for easy of use and understanding.  The large, top-lit VU meters add to the beauty of this piece, giving it a timeless look with utmost functionality. Dolby Noise Reduction improves overall performance, and the electronically operated controls operate smoothly and quietly. 

Like all our cassette players, this unit has been completely serviced, calibrated (speed, azimuth, and head height), and verified.  It has gone through extensive testing and we think it is the best 480 around!
