American Audio VLP-1500, Professional Power Amp - SOLD

American Audio is not a company typically associated with consumer hifi, but in the pro audio circuit, it is a well-known and well-respected brand.  With beefy toroidal power supplies, simple and easy-to-use controls, and always BIG power to drive demanding commercial loads with ease and clarity, these amps are a huge bargain on the used market. 

The VLP-1500 power amp features 500 watts per channel, RMS, into 8 ohms.  That's a lot of juice.  Bridged mono, power triples to 1500 watts RMS into 8 ohms.  AND, the amp has dynamic headroom to spare in either configuration with a damping factor of 300.  Yes, 300.  Most amps have a damping factor around 80-100.   Distortion is very low: 0.1% THD at 1kHz at full power under load.  This amp displays hi-end specs, and comes at you at a beer budget. 

This example is in near perfect condition inside and out and plays perfectly.
