Boston Acoustics began its audio journey in the late 1970s.  Created as an affordable brand with a simple "Yankee" style, the company's designs were equally simple.  Simplicity can often yield the best results.  With careful component selection, simplicity means higher efficiency, lower loss, and better management of resources.  This was definitely the case with BA's early offerings.

The A60 was the second-largest in the product line, introduced in 1981. Taking cues from bigger brothers the A70 and A100, the A60 stuffed a lot of sound in a small package.  The sealed, acoustic suspension design was an early hallmark for Boston Acoustics, and served their in-house constructed 8" paper cone woofer very well. Coupled with a 2.5" paper cone tweeter with very low resonant cutoff, the two drivers blend extremely well together.

The cabinet is made from a nicely crafted composite wood and finished in simulated walnut veneer.  What's nice about the box shape is the how narrow it is, front to back.  It's a bookshelf speaker that can truly live nestled on a bookshelf!

This particular set of A60 are in near immaculate condition.  Complete with all of their packing materials and carton, we unwrapped them from the box as if for the first time.  Of course, the woofer foam has been replaced.  Barring a small, and unfortunate "ding" to one tweeter dust cap which does not affect performance, these are near perfect.

Demos are encouraged in Andover, MA.  And shipping in the original carton would be a breeze.
