Genesis I Speakers, Custom Burl Walnut - SOLD

Genesis Physics was founded in 1975 by former associates of Win Burhoe's EPI (Epicure Products) company, based in Newburyport, MA.  The new company competed directly with EPI and started making speakers in nearby Newington, NH.  The adaptation of the inverted dome tweeter, this time using ferrofluid cooling for increased power handling and damping, and carry-over of the efficient "wide band" 8" paper cone woofer technology mean Genesis speakers bear a very close resemblance to their EPI/Epicure cousins.  

The Genesis I utilizes a very simple 2-way design with Genesis' signature 8" woofer and 1" inverted dome tweeter.  The crossover is as simplistic as it gets, with nothing more than a single capacitor filtering low frequencies from the tweeter.  The concept was to develop and manufacture in-house drive units that operated seamlessly with one another, within the interference of complex crossovers.  

This pair have been lovingly restored and covered in a unique engineered burl walnut veneer, a broad departure from the woodgrain vinyl wrap that originally encased these boxes!  The look is outstanding.  New grille frames were fabricated here at our shop and covered in real linen cloth. Crossovers were treated with high quality poly-film capacitors.  The sounds these speakers create are effortless and silky.
