McIntosh MC2105 - Vintage Excellence - SOLD

OK Mac fanatics, here we have an all original McIntosh MC-2105 105WPC stereo power amp in extraordinary condition. Cosmetically, this is one of the nicest Mac units we've ever offered! The amp casing itself is nearly flawless thanks to it living in a wood cabinet pretty much it's entire life. It's been thoroughly gone through here in-house by out expert techs and after a bit of bias adjustment & a good solid hygiene session, is performing to spec. 

This amp performs WELL BEYOND it's humble 105W rating. It has been tested on our bench to put out over 150WPC before hitting the maximum guaranteed THD specifications. These are highly iconic yet undervalued amps with stunning peformance throughout. They have deep, powerful yet controlled bass and incredibly detailed yet never metalic highs. Mids are perfectly balanced and silky smooth. The 2105 uses autoformers which help the output stage see a consistent loading regardless of your speaker ratings - this is how they're able to maintain such great (low) distortion and bandwidth specifications even under heavily loaded conditions!

We have this 2105 paired with an equally magnificent C28 and firing a pristine set of Tannoy, M1000 studio monitors. We have had so many incredible systems here that we tend to forget just how great these vintage Mac pieces are. The setup they are in now is about as satisfying a trio as we've ever experienced; need to pull staff members away as they can't get enough. Me too, it's spectacular. Solid 8+/9 in the visual department with only the slightest signs of usage. BIG 10 in performance!
