ADS L-810, Legendary East Coast Monitors

ADS is an iconic New England hifi brand with an incredible product line and history.  Originally Aria, an importer of German-made speakers and electronics from Braun, ADS quickly grew to replace its distant cousin in the mouths of audiophiles from the 1970s, 80s, and 90s. The company produced a wide range of speakers in Massachusetts, from the diminutive L100 to the gargantuan L2030.  But ADS's midline product offerings were always popular and provided excellent performance for everyday listening.  Occasionally, the company would branch off into studio monitor territory as well. 

During the ’70s-’90s, ADS and Braun used legendary German Industrial Designers like Dieter Rams, Peter Hartwein and even Frog Design’s Hartmut Esslinger, who designed the first Macintosh computer. Their Professional Monitor series (L2030, L1530, L1230) speakers were used in many recording studios, and they also revolutionized hi-end car audio with their ADS 300IS speakers. Their home audio speakers, like the L810 featured here, were regarded as incredibly musical and some of the best speakers made during this era with transparent clarity and deep bass.

There have been many, MANY reviewer pieces on the incredible L-810 and all are impressively positive. Back in the day it was either a set of L-810, the definitive East Coast monitor system or the JBL 4311 repp'n the West Coast. Each had their own distinct sonic package but many audio lovers found happiness in both camps.

This se of L-810 is by far the finest example of this iconic speaker we have ever had here at HHA. Cabinets are near flawless and a blemish is almost impossible to find. Drivers are in fabulous condition and as tested, are as close to original spec as one could ever hope for in a 45yo speaker. Metal grills are impeccable with no dings or dents... just an all out amazing time capsule set of classic ADS.

ADS fans this is "the set"!! You will NOT come across another pair like this in this lifetime; of that you can be assured. Come complete with like-new OEM stands, boxes and packaging... even has a promo paper that would have been a take-home from the dealer. Man, just amazing!
