Allison Acoustics was founded in Natick, MA in March 1974.  Roy Allison sought to develop a series of speakers to work specifically with, not against, room acoustics; an issue he wrote about during his early career at Acoustic Research.

The Allison CD series of speakers were part of a second generation of designs that successfully carried on Roy Allison's intent.  These CD-6 speakers addressed Roy's concerns on room dynamics by "loading" the room's rear walls and ceiling in a unique way, to use reflections to enhance imaging and dynamics. These speakers use Allison's signature "pointy" paper dome tweeter and coated paper dome 8" mid-woofer.  The speakers perform well on stands or up high on a bookshelf and are perfectly suited for small and medium sized rooms, as well as commercial/retail applications.

This example have been rescued and restored to their original beauty.  The original oak veneer has been cleaned and sealed in natural oil. The fragile plastic perforated grilles have carefully preserved, barring one 3"-long crack along the top of one unit.   Woofer foam has been replaced with the correct filleted foam.  Tweeter capacitors have been replaced for the highest possible fidelity.

These speakers are plug-and-play for many years to come.

Demos are welcome at our Lawrence, MA showroom.
