Aragon 2004 MkII Power Amp - Huge Power and Value - SOLD

The Aragon 2004 MkII is a well-regarded solid state power amplifier known for its clarity, dynamics, and overall performance. While magazines like Stereophile never did a formal review of the 2004 MKII, they did review the 8008 and found that particular amp excellent by way of soundstage and detail. The 2004 MkII by all accounts is considered a powerful amplifier with great bass control with smooth involving midrange and highs.

The 2004 MkII delivers an authoritative 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms, doubling to an impressive 200 watts into 4 ohms, thanks to its high-current output stage and oversized toroidal transformer. This immense power reserve allows it to drive even the most challenging loudspeakers with effortless control, dynamic agility, and striking headroom. Whether pushing the intricate detail of a string quartet or the thunderous impact of a film score, the Aragon remains resolute and composed, faithfully revealing every nuance of the source material.

Internally, the amplifier benefits from Aragon’s rigorous circuit topology, employing fully discrete components with dual-mono construction to preserve signal integrity and eliminate crosstalk. This results in a stereo image that is richly dimensional and holographic, with pinpoint imaging and a spacious soundstage. The MKII refinement introduces updated components and circuit enhancements that further refine tonal accuracy and transient response, offering a smoother, more transparent listening experience compared to earlier versions.

This unit is in excellent physical condition. The stark design, and signature angled "cutout" revealing the amp's large heatsinks, lets people know this is an Aragon.  Having been recently fully serviced by our in-house tech, the amp is ready for many more years of enjoyment.
