So here we have a beautiful set of s400 with matching walnut stands ($500 value) and the Buchardt "Signature" crossover upgrade kit. Not knowing much about these, although we've read their reviews extensively, we have to say that these little rascals are amazing. The rear "racetrack" passive adds control and depth to these totally manageable standout speakers. The Buchardt Tripod walnut & steal stands bring a set of completeness and refinement to their presentation. How do they sound? Well, we have the s400 system mated with the new heaven11, Billie Series 3, at 120 watts per/channel of class D juice and they absolutely sing. The black aluminum w/walnut knobs of the Billie seems to mate perfectly with the wood stands and matt black of the s400. Really a spectacular pairing that you'd be hard pressed to beat - toss in a Michell Technodec and your analog prayers have just been answered. Also, remember, these have gotten the Buchardt "Signature" Crossover upgrade, (another $500+ upgrade). We have to say, we're totally impressed by what they offer - deep fast accurate bass, silky 3rd row midrange with just the right amount of high frequency energy. Can listen to these and this combo all day. Solid 9+ in visuals w/no blemishes of any kind observed and as for performance, exceptionally satisfying.
