Cyrus Classic - PRE, POWER, STREAM - Exceptional Value, Hi-End Components

Founded as a specialist electronics arm of Mission in 1984, Cyrus Audio quickly earned a cult following for its iconic, half-width hi-fi designs. Today, the independent British brand operates from Cambridgeshire, England, designing and manufacturing award-winning amplifiers, CD players, and streaming systems.  Cyrus components have become known for their compact sizes and impactful performance.  Here we have a  rare (for us) Open Box-Demo set of three fabulous pieces from Cyrus: Classic PRE, Classic POWER, and Classic STREAM. 

Classic PRE

This preamplifier provides a significant step up in performance from previous versions. The circuit design was completely re-designed and the majority of the internal components upgraded by the Cyrus R&D team, which has resulted in sound improvements that will help the Classic series retain a loyal fan base for many years to come.  Living in both the analog and digital realms, Classic PRE features relay input selection for its five analog inputs and a precision gain control for volume. The MM Phono  stage  features dual active gain stages and passive RIAA equalization. Both balanced and unbalanced outputs are provided as well.  The Classic PRE power supply includes a 74VA toroidal power transformer delivering power to a high capacity power supply reserve. Within the circuit design, a total of 11 independent power supply regulators do the job of providing a clean foundation for both the analog and digital sides of this component. The on-board ESS Sabre ES9039Q2M 32-bit DAC is precise and musical with plenty of inputs and outputs for today’s needs and future growth. 

Classic POWER

The Classic POWER stereo amplifier provides 110 watts per channel into a nominal 6 Ohm load and can handle a wide range of speaker types.  The amplifier’s circuit topology has been completely re-designed to provide flat frequency response and to keep any undesirable phase shifts out of the audio band. With a generous, over-specified power supply the Classic POWER amplifier is very capable of reproducing the scale and drama of a musical performance.   The power supply includes a massive 408VA toroidal power transformer delivering power to a high capacity power supply.  

Classic STREAM

The Classic STREAM is a network streaming DAC that perfectly complements the Classic series, providing loyal owners of classic products the opportunity to add a high performing streamer to their systems. Using the renowned Bluesound BluOS streaming platform, the Classic STREAM comes fully packaged with all the features and benefits you would expect from a modern streamer.  The DAC output stage of the Classic STREAM features our award-winning QXR DAC, which includes a high-speed analogue buffer stage. The QXR DAC design is based on the ESS ES9038Q2M chipset, which has had every component analyzed and modified by Cyrus to achieve the highest possible performance. The result is a DAC that reconstructs the analogue signal with incredible accuracy and precision, revealing layers and depth that will have you listening back through your complete music collection.

Together, this system currently retails for nearly $10,000.  There is a lot of technology wrapped up in these small packages and plenty of audio heft to deliver music with very little in the way of compromise.  

Offered here as a 3-piece package, this setup would shame many other, more expensive, systems.  As an Open Box/Demo, this is an incredible opportunity.
