EPI 100V - Great Sound, Pure & Simple

 EPI, or Epicure Products, Inc., was the brainchild of Winslow Burhoe and originally based out of Newburyport, MA.  Win Burhoe's signature designs were based on a philosophy where speakers were matched with specific room acoustics and placement.  Long, flat walls were adorned with speakers designed to work along long, flat walls, and corner speakers were meant to be driven from corners. Adding to that, Win Burhoe designed drivers that were meant to work together with "no crossover", or at least a very minimal high-pass filter for tweeter protection.  These modules consisted of an 8" paper cone bass driver, and 1" inverted dome tweeter.  Burhoe would arrange modules in various ways to achieve his desired in-room responses for each application.

The EPI 100V features all the technological advances made by EPI over their existance. The original Tech HiFi chain of audio (eventually video too) shops must have sold 1000 pair of these themselves and for good reason. They're a simple 2-way speaker done right. You will hear an expressive & extended frequency response common to all EPI speakers. Music doesn't come out sounding like its coming out of a box. There is virtually no exaggeration, or colouration of the signal fed into the speakers. Like all Epicure speakers, they have excellent dispersion, over 180 degrees, made possible by EPI's unique one inch linear air spring tweeter.

No matter where you sit in your room to listen to the EPI 100V, you will enjoy a sharply defined stereo-effect.
