The 10" EMB-1000, $1,595.00 retail in 2005, is a moderately sized, highly musical & impressively quick sub from US manufacturer James Loudspeakers of Minden, NV. This sub was a known competitor to the REL, KEF, Velodyne & Rythmik subs from that era. While many subwoofer manufacturers shifted gears for more home theater compatibility, brands like James & REL stayed on point and managed to produce subs that were not only an option for HT but that were nimble enough to keep pace with the most demanding loudspeakers in a 2.0 w/sub configuration. This piece is incredibly balanced and a perfect match for ProAc, PMC, Spendor, Focal & JM Reynaud & other smaller stand mount monitors. We had it connected to a set of KEF, 103.2 (shop favorite) and this piece took those incredible monitors to an even higher level. Truly full range sound capable of drilling down to the deepest depths & agile enough to keep pace with the vintage Reference KEFs. Comes complete with upgraded brass decoupling cone kit ($50 value)
