Kenwood began making consumer audio products in the 1960s under the Trio brand. In the 1970s, the company grabbed ahold of the design and power requirements silver-faced era and never looked back. From exceptional tuners to monster receivers, Kenwood products from this time period are built well and provide excellent sound quality.
The Eleven GX AM/FM Stereo "Monster" Receiver is a shining example of Kenwood’s lasting excellence in design. Introduced in 1979, the receiver was at the top of Kenwood's lineup, sporting a HUGE 120 watts per channel into 8 ohms with only 0.03% total harmonic distortion. This receiver is a beast. Hook ANY speaker it it, and you will have power for days and days. Would put this receiver up against some of the much more expensive models of the era from Pioneer, Marantz, and Sansui without question!
Other features include, dual-phono inputs, A-B-C speaker outputs, dual tape loops with adjustable gain controls, loudness adjustment, and balance controls commensurate with the time period. But the real highlight on the "G" series was the centrally-mounted 5-band Graphic Equalizer, bookended by Low and High Filter controls. The brushed aluminum front face plate, bold lettering, and blue illumination with animated meters finish off the classic look of this unit; wrapped in walnut veneered casework.
This unit looks great, has been serviced and cleaned thoroughly by our technician, and is ready for many more years of mind-bending musical enjoyment!
