Mapleshade Gibraltar, Large Speaker Pedestals

Mapleshade was born from a home recording studio back in 1986.  Since then the company has been designing and manufacturing high-quality audio accessories from natural materials.  The philosophy being that natural materials, mainly solid hard woods, provide better isolation and vibration damping than synthetic materials, and they have some data to show it works. 

The Gibraltar, dual-section speaker stands provide twice the density of Mapleshade's best-seller, the Bedrock. Each section is made from solid maple blocks which are shaped to direct vibration to the center of the stand.  Each section is coupled to the other using 1/4" brass spikes, internal to the stand itself, and the whole setup is connected via a large 7/8" threaded rod.  Brass floor spikes finish things off and couple the entire assembly to the floor.

This set are finished in a Cherry stain and look spectacular.  Barring a few very superficial scratches from use, they are very presentable and deliver all of the acoustic isolation one could want from such a beautiful piece of furniture.
