Martin Logan Motion 4i & 8i, Matched 5-Channel Combo

Martin Logan speakers are famous for using advanced electrostatic and folded, thin-film technology to deliver ultra-realistic high- and mid-frequency sound reproduction. ML’s are known for giving the listener a clear, detailed, and pure audio performance for both music and home theater setups.  The ML “Motion Series” brings the clarity of high-end folded-film speakers to compact home theater systems using ML’s hybrid design approach.

The Motion 4i is a compact, passive 2-way bookshelf (and wall-mountable) speaker. The Motion 4i features ML’s signature Folded Motion tweeter and a 4-inch composite paper cone woofer in a small, shapely, and well constructed enclosure.  The cabinet also includes a uniquely designed “Cascading Bass Reflex” port. The design of the port is a new and innovative way to extract lower frequencies from smaller mid-bass drivers. Essentially a super long tube that has been folded in on itself, the rear firing bass port does bring the entire system’s frequency response down to pretty amazing levels.

Combined with the companion Motion 8i center channel, this setup is a great entry-point into fully engaging hi-quality multi-channel audio and home theater.  Like the Motion 4i, the Motion 8i features an elegant, gloss-black curved cabinet, multiple positioning options, the same Air Motion tweeter, treated woofers.
