The 1970s were the glory days for turntable design and construction. All the major global players were making amazing gear, with quality components, and exceptional sound. Pioneer cemented its name in the hifi world in the 1960s and just kept churning out wonderful components for more than a few decades since then.
Enter the PL-41 turntable in 1970. The PL-41 is a 2-speed, belt-driven, full-manual deck with a 4-pole synchronous motor and die-cast aluminum platter. The drive unit sits within a gorgeous, real walnut veneered wood plinth and covered by a clear plastic duct cover. Making all the music happen is a precision Pioneer static-balance tonearm. The S-shaped arm is designed to maintain stylus contact points across the surface of the entire record and its light weight nature ensures quiet performance.
"What's that cartridge?" you ask. Well, it's none other than the original spec Pioneer PL-C9 moving magnet cartridge, in New Old Stock condition....Literally a barn find for cartridges. It plays beautifully and is just breaking in!
Are there other PL-41 out there for less? Yes, but not in this, serviced condition. You have to see and hear this table to appreciate it fully. Just perfect.
