The Pioneer SA-8500 is a 2-channel integrated stereo amplifier featuring defeatable, twin bass and treble controls, balance control, microphone input with level control, loudness switch, muting switch, low and high filter circuits and connections for two speaker systems.

Produced from 77-79 the 8500 II was the upper middle of their integrated offerings. In terms of power it’s rated at 60 wpc and uses separate power supplies for each channel. The THD is a low .05%. It’s built like an aluminum tank with engraved lettering and a mass of options. As far as sound quality it’s fairly neutral, extremely clear, and handles detail like a champ. Has a "killer" phono stage as well and has inputs for (2) TTs.

We, here at HHA consider it a fantastic example of Pioneer at its peak in the late 70s. This unit is incredibly clean showing just the slightest signs of wear. Has been fully serviced here in-house by our expert tech staff and is ready to pair with your favorite Acoustic Research, EPI, JBL or Allison speakers from the same era. It's a marvelous amp waiting to be the center of your vintage system - a true showstopper.
