Pioneer SX-3800 Vintage Receiver, Relive the Dream!

The Pioneer "SX" series of receivers from the 1970s were known for ultra quiet, top-quality phono inputs and excellent FM reception.  This is a great example of one of the last “traditional-silver-faced” receivers from the great receiver battles of the 1970s. Sporting a very understated 60 watts per channel, this receiver was released in 1980. The wood-look case and large faceted aluminum controls give it a very distinctive look. Couple that with the modern fluoroscan display, quartz-locked tuner, and traditional tuning dial; and it’s the best of both worlds. 

This unit has been serviced by our renown specialist, Tom B..  The service included: tuner calibration, output board and power supply board recap, servicing and testing of tone controls, and cleaning of all dials.  It sounds fantastic with vintage speakers from the era such as Advent, AR, or ADS.
