Pro-Ject Audio Systems was founded in 1991 in Austria by engineer Heinz Lichtenegger.  Heinz was smart to name his company Pro-Ject. An opportunist, he purchased the remnants of a Czech turntable company following the collapse of the Berlin Wall and subsequent chaotic "re-opening" of Europe.  His goal was to make high quality, European-made turntables available to the world; and he has since succeeded. Since then, Pro-Ject has delivered excellent acoustic quality, across an entire line of components, at both affordable and outlandish prices...To suit every type of refined budget.

The Pro-Ject 1.2 turntable was designed to be an accessible and affordable entry point into vinyl listening.  Adapted from the extremely successful model 1 and Debut models, the 1.2 takes things a step further, with a high-density MDF plinth, ultra-quiet motor, and elongated tonearm.

This unit is fitted with a Sumiko Blue Oyster moving magnet cartridge with a lot of life left.  The mechanism has been refreshed and plays smoothly.  Besides some scratches on the top cover and missing the "Pro-Ject" badge, this player is a great starter deck for a young newcomer or veteran listener wanted to clean off their old stored-away vinyl.

Demos are encouraged in Andover, MA.
