Will Studer, the genial creator and founding father of the Studer/ReVox global organisation opened his company as the ”Will Studer, Factory for Electronic Equipment” in Herisau, Switzerland. Alongside the development and manufacture of high-voltage oscilloscopes, the young company soon turns to the development of reel-to-reel machines, initially marketed under the Dynavox name. With the ReVox T26, Will Studer launches his first tape recorder under his own brand name. The device was a development based on the Dynavox and had such excellent quality that it was used in the professional world of broadcast. The Dynavox name was soon replaced by ReVox, the now world recognized moniker for analog recording mastery.

Here we have a package for the ReVox obsessed. A B226 CD Player, B286 Preceiver with Remote, and B242 Power Amplifier.  This was one of the most lauded and highest-powered systems ReVox ever produced for home audio use.

The Revox B286 is a highly regarded tuner-preamplifier known for its exceptional Swiss build quality and excellent audio performance. It's considered a high-end piece of equipment, with a tuner section that is often praised as one of the best ever produced. The preamp section offers a wide array of features and functionalities expected from a high-end processor.

The ReVox B242 is a powerful amplifier known for its high output (200 watts per side in 8 ohms) and robust build. It was the largest power amplifier offered by ReVox during its production run in the 1980s. Users often praise its ability to drive a wide range of speakers with ample power and clarity. This amp is a beast an capable of powering ANY of the low sensitivity speakers of the 80s. No matter how tough a load you throw at it, this amp shines and brings the absolute best from your system.

The ReVox B226 CD player became an industry standard/reference in 1985. the B226 is a 16-bit machine which featured the latest hi-end "bits" (pun intended) from Philips: both the all-aluminium CDM transport and the famous TDA 1541 DAC combined for a wonderful package that still plays with clarity and exceptional realism today.

All of these pieces have been reviewed and vetted by our expert tech staff.  Absolutely no disappointments.
