Sherwood S-7100A Vintage Solid State Receiver
Sherwood made audio components and amplifiers as early as 1952. As a long-standing US business, they developed some affordable and quality components that opened up the US consumer audio industry to many people.
The S-7100A receiver features a modest 20 watts per channel, MM phono input, headphone output, tape monitor loop, auxiliary input, two speaker outputs, and a fantastic FM tuner into a very nice and compact package. Designed in 1970 to compete with brands like Pioneer, the Sherwood S-7100A was very popular; and the internal design was very slightly different from the S-7100 (without the 'A') - With a better overall frequency response and lower internal noise, but also lower power output.
This unit has been reviewed by our in-house tech, bias has been adjusted, and all lamps and dials restored to operational condition. The real walnut veneered case looks excellent with hardly a mark on it. This is a great-playing, and great-looking entry-level receiver.
