Sima Electronics, the precursor to Simaudio, was formed in 1980 in Quebec, Canada.  Highly regarded by enthusiasts and the audiophile community, Simaudio quickly became a very popular hifi name, with exceptional products that brought musicality to every listening session. The "MOON" series of components was introduced in the late 1990s with even greater acclaim.  The MOON architecture was a technological advancement that allowed this new line to deliver incredible performance at a comparatively low price point.

The MOON i-7 Integrated Amplifier was developed in 2005 and sold until 2011. The key to the i-7's performance was its almost entirely dual-mono layout.  From input terminals to output terminals, the left and right signals are kept separated from one another for the ultimate in cleanliness. An improved power supply ensured that each channel performed with equal aplomb.  And the overall internal layout, consistent with other MOON products, meant the shortest possible conductor lengths from entry to exit, to reduce potential interference, noise, or distortion.

The i-7 uses a Class A/AB architecture which runs Class-A for the first 5 watts of output.  When pushed, the amplifier delivers a maximum 150 watts per channel RMS output with clarity that is nearly unmatched even today.  Because of the Class-A nature of the amplifier, the unit is meant to be powered on all day, running a low-level standby mode when not in use.  This allows the internal components to remain "at the ready" at all times.

This unit is in exceptional condition; having powered a gorgeous set of Von Schweikert VR4SR-II towers for the last 15 years.  It comes with the remote, and barring a few very minor nicks from age, is in excellent physical condition. Sonically, excellent, of course.
