Solidsteel 6.4, Fully Isolating Audio Rack

Solidsteel has been making high-quality, hand-built audio racks out of Italy since 1990. The Conti family started the company with their knowledge of developing silencers (mufflers) for Ducati motorcycles.  Their deep understanding of vibration controls and the intricacies of metalworking dovetailed perfectly with the Solidsteel concept. The initial designs were combinations of wooden shelving, suspended on a welded aluminum armature, with spikes added to control, concentrate, and then dissipate vibration. Today, Solidsteel continues to manufacture exceptional products in their Italian warehouse; maintaining the vision of their late founder, and father.  

The products are built with passion in mind, and the 6.4 system pictured here is no exception.  Built with a steel frame structure, the weight and density of this rack is readily apparent.  It's heavy, sturdy, and built to last generations. The 1.2" thick MDF shelves, of which there are 4, are suspended by the company's internally developed "Duraluminum" spike system, the top-most shelve using a decoupling system to allow for proper turntable isolation. 

To say this rack is "overbuilt" is an understatement.  

The previous owner also crafted a 1.25" thick maple butcher-block plinth for the whole rack to sit on, which is included with the rack, to help save your floors from being punctured from the sheer weight of this thing. 

The shelving has some scratches and signs of wear.  There are a few nicks in the Silver painted finish, but overall, if you want a serious framework around your serious gear, this rack does the job perfectly.
